Seniors win in Ballyhaunis
Garrymore seniors maintained their 100% unbeaten record in the senior league last Friday night at the Connacht centre of excellence. Ballyhaunis provided the opposition for Garrymore who needed to win in order to keep their division 1B status for next year. Garrymore played with the assistance of the breeze in the first half and lead at half time 0-12 to 0-3.
Playing against the wind in the second half meant Garrymore had to hold onto the ball much more and the converted the only two goal opportunities they got for the entire game whack killed off any hope of a come back Ballyhaunis had. The goals were scored by Enda Varley and second had substitute Colm O’Neill.
Garrymore ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-07.
The result means Garrymore still remain top of the league but only by the fact that they have beaten Kiltane earlier in the season.
