Seniors suffered heavy defeat
Garrymore seniors suffered a heavy defeat is round two of Division one. Garrymore missing a few regulars on the day combined with a lot of errors resulted is an 11 point loss to neighbours Kilmaine. Playing against a strong breeze in the first half and Garrymore found it very difficult to break down the Kilmaine defense who seemed to get numbers back as well as forward when it mattered. Leading by 7 points Kilmaine got the all important goal after twenty minutes when a misjudged bounce got the better of the Garrymore keeper to leave 10 between the sides. Kilmaine went further ahead before Garrymore pulled two back to leave the score at half time 1-11 to 0-3.
Garrymore did respond early in the second half but 5 wides in a row summed up their day where nothing seemed to go right. Later in the half both sides went down to 14 men after an off the ball altercation. Kilmaine went on to maintain their 11 point first half lead to win 1-15 to 0-07.
