Seniors back to winning ways

After the disappointment of losing the County Quarter final two weeks ago it was back to the league for the Garrymore senior team. Garrymore went into the game knowing that only a win would suffice if they were to keep the challenge going in winning the league.

Garrymore playing at home started the brighter and raced into a 0-8 to 0-1 lead against Burrishoole who too were looking for a win to keep their division 1B status for next year.

The final 10 minutes of the half saw Burrishoole crawled their way back into the game bringing the deficit back to one just before half time but Garrymore responded with the last score of the half leaving two in it at half time 0-9 to 1-4.

Garrymore started the second half brightly with the majority of possession and increased their lead to 5 points thanks to a Enda Varley goal.

Errors and countless wides made for a nervous finish for Garrymore, leading by just two points for the remaining 10 minutes, Garrymore could not kill of the game.

Despite the nervous finish Garrymore game out on top on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10.

The result now puts Garrymore back on top with 14 points with the head to head rule separating Kiltane and themselves.

Next up for Garrymore is Ballyhaunis Friday at 9pm in Ballyhaunis.
