O’Mara Cup report
Garrymore seniors took on Claremorris in the O’Mara Cup last Sunday. This Garrymore’s first competitive game since their championship lost to Breaffy didn’t go the way of the red and white. Down a number of key players Garrymore got of to the better start and led Claremorris by 5 points to 3 after 20 minutes but it was Claremorris who finished the stronger and hit three unanswered points to lead at half time 6 points to 5.
Claremorris took up where they left of and stretched their lead to four points with Garrymore kicking a number of bad wides. Points were exchanged in the fourth quarter but Garrymore couldn’t find the all important goal to bring them back into the game.
Final score from Claremorris: Garrymore 0-8 Claremorris 0-11.
