Seniors make it two in a row
Garrymore seniors made it two wins in a row in the mayo Senior league last Saturday evening. The opposition was Breaffy in round 6 of the league. Both sides were minus a few regulars on account of the game being a starred game and Garrymore with a few individuals out with injury and holidays.
Garrymore started the brightly and were 10 points up after 15 minutes with goals coming from Brian Lynskey and Michael Connolly. The second 15 minutes of the half was a period Garrymore would like to forget sitting comfortable with a 10 point lead they let it slip right back to two before half time and were lucky to go in with the lead.
Breaffy continued their purple patch into the second half and after 10 minutes took the lead but that was were it ended for the homeside as Garrymore found another gear and surged in to a 5 point lead in the closing minutes. Two late efforts points for the homeside left three in it at the end to give Garrymore a valuable two points.
Next up for Garrymore is a home fixture v Ballina with the date and time to be confirmed.
