Michael Walsh League Champions

Garrymore seniors captured the Michael Walsh league tittle for the first time on Easter Monday. The competition now in its 6th Year was Garrymore’s second final after losing to Ballintubber last year.

The opposition on Easter Monday was county finalists Castlebar Mitchels. Both sides were without a few regular players but the match up made for an entertaining game.

Mitchels went in at half time leading by two points 1-04 to 0-05.

The second half was a tight tense affair with neither side wanting to give an inch. Garrymore continued to battle back and rewarded when Brian Walsh came on the end of a flowing move to score Garrymore’s goal to put the minimum between the sides with 10 minutes to go. From then on Garrymore took control of proceeding and ran out one point winners.
