Say the Prayer Jim...by Declan Heaney
Before every match Garrymore plays there is a practice which may not be widely-known, i.e., saying the prayer. The custom dates back for about thirty years and it has always been the final part of the dressing room ritual before taking the field. Read more...

MAYO G.A.A. CHRISTMAS BANQUET & FAMILY DAY
Mayo G.A.A. are proud to host the first ever “Christmas Banquet & Family Day” with the Mayo Senior and Minor Football Teams. The event will take place on Sunday 22nd December in The Knockranny House Hotel in Westport. There will be loads of events on the day including: An Auction for one of the Mayo Senior Players to come to your house and cook for you and your family, Children & Players Christmas Room where players will entertain the children during the banquet, have your picture taken with some of our inter-county players, get autographs, and who knows there may even be a surprise visit by the man himself……………………………………………………………………….. Santa Claus!!!!!
This promises to be a fun family day and a chance to unwind in the lead up to the Christmas period. All funds raised for the event will go towards the much deserved Mayo Senior Football Team Holiday Fund.
